The president has repeatedly said he's the No. 1 target of the Iranian regime, with protesters holding banners calling for his death at Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's funeral this week.
Iran launched more missiles at U.S. allies Thursday and said at least 14 people were killed in U.S. airstrikes over the last two days of escalating tit-for-tat strikes, sparked by Iranian attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz earlier this week.
President Donald Trump declared on Truth Social that "1,000 missiles are locked and loaded" if Iran acts on assassination threats made against him.
One senior U.S. official said Iran should vow to reopen the Strait of Hormuz by Saturday or will face consequences.
